Cruel Serenade: GutterTrash Now Available in Chinese!

Thanks to the work of Alot, there is now an unofficial translation pack for GutterTrash in Chinese as well. You can get it here, (1.1) and copy the files over onto a version 1.0.5 copy of GT. Note that it is unofficial, as I don't have time to fully test, and I'm not as familiar (not at all actually) with Chinese as I am with Japanese. Also note that unlike the Japanese pack, this one does have some machine translation, though heavily edited by hand. I was able to test up to the Gutter however (with machine translation in the other direction), and nothing seemed clumsy or wildly inaccurate, so this isn't just a case of someone tossing the text into chatGPT, hitting translate and then copy-pasting it back in; some care was actually taken, and from what I can tell it seems to be a decent translation. Feel free to report bugs or mistakes, though it may take a while for them to be addressed.

There was also at least one offer to do a Russian translation, but I haven't heard anything new on that in a while. And for those who are wondering, I will be doing a small news update on the progress for Chapter 3 at the end of the month.

I am planning to make large-scale adjustments to the text in the translation package.

And... can I post an additional link to the netdisk?

catbox is not bad, but here, most of the time there is no direct access to it.

As long as you put it on both there shouldn't be an issue. Always good to have backup options.

The version of the translation package has been upgraded to V1.1!

Modified some text and added some content.

I found some minor flaws in the text.

Can I upload the corrected version here?

Yes, I'd recommend that for clarity: for any updates you make to the patch from now on, post a comment on the devblog announcement for the Chinese translation (so right here, like you did!), with a quick explanation, version number (this would be 2 obviously), and link to the new version. When I see it I'll update the link in the main text to point to the new patch (and indicate which version it points to now).

I would be happy to translate this project into Russian, since I speak both English and Russian, but the only thing that holds me back is the lack of free time. I really liked the project and I would also like to contribute. But if someone makes a translation before I have free time, I will be very interested in replaying the game

No worries, it is definitely an investment of time. But if you ever feel like you want to give it a try, by all means take a shot at it. Love to get it out there as much as I can.

maybe I can help with translating one day

Maybe!

Bro you have chinese version but not mobile version

The translations are made by fans, and I only loosely monitor them to make sure they work and are fairly accurate. Mobile would require significantly more time, and on an ongoing basis.

ok so how does it work exactly someone volunteers and you give them access to it

Check out the pinned/stickied thread on the main GT page for the details. Nothing to give access to, it's all there in the game, there's no encryption or anything, it's just text files with formatting. You have to spend a little time familiarizing yourself with RPGMaker to learn what's where, but it isn't overly complex. I usually recommend Translator++, as it makes it easier to keep track of what you're doing and where you are in the project, but nothing's stopping you from editing the raw text files if you're a masochist.

If you're considering a mobile mod rather than translation though I'd recommend against it. The game does some file I/O stuff for the DataCrystal system that just flat-out will not work on mobile, and I'm not sure an alternative plugin exists, so unless you know both Android, iPhone and Javascript well enough to code your own RPGMaker plugin...yeah.

unfortunately I don't know, thanks for explaining
