Cruel Serenade: GutterTrash
First Content Pack Complete!
After several months of work, the first content pack for Cruel Serenade: GutterTrash is finally finished. This pack adds:
-The real "slut mode" fight and endings.
-The path through the host club (building with a rabbit on it).
-A mini-game.
-A few other bits here and there.
In doing so, it also nearly doubles the scenes in the game, depending on how you count them:

It's been a bit of a push to get it all ready in four months, but I'm pretty happy with the result, and I think you will be to.
As discussed previously, the pack will be going live for SubscribeStar supporters first (it's live now!), then added to the Itch version two weeks later, on November 12th. Anyone who's already bought the game and doesn't mind waiting a little will get the pack for free. If you don't want to wait, feel free to join up here for $10 or more. It's absolutely ok to just join for a single month to get the pack (though if you want to stay, by all means.) And again, thank you all for your support. Couldn't have gotten this far without it.

so i downloaded 7.x but it wont play the game. It says it can’t find nw_elf.dll. Can anyone explain
You likely either have file corruption, or a file permissions issue. Re-download and extract the game, and try to avoid putting it in places where Windows tends to throw a shitfit about permissions (My documents, Desktop etc, but sometimes even the whole C drive). The old "right click and run as Administrator" trick may help as well.
so When I download the game will I need to download two different versions of the game or would it just be one and I can go down both paths?
Just the one, it'll be an addition to the game, an increment of the version number. Saves can be SOMEWHAT carried over, but I'll elaborate on that more in the post when it goes up.

Not sure if you have already mentioned it but will the pack also contain the slut mode content for when we played slut mode in the first game?
Not sure what you're asking. The "Pack" will just be a new version of GT, with the new content. Each chapter/game is its own thing, except for the scene/scenes potentially unlocked by your Datacrystal file from the previous game. But that content was already in GT before this new pack.

Ah, that make sense. No, just the one scene in GT (that was already in) is dependent on that.
Hi, I was just wondering, is there a way for me to refund my game. In all honesty, I bought the game on an implusive accident. I do still plan on buying it when its done, it's just, right now I'm trying not to spend money. Again, so sorry for the inconvenience, but a refund would help me. Just let me know before hand if and when you would like to start the refund process because I might change my mind.
Absolutely. It's a little draw out: you have to apply for a refund, Itch will give you the boilerplate that they normally don't do refunds except in cases of deceptive marketing/non-functioning games etc, I'll reply-all on that giving my permission and they'll issue the refund. May take a few weeks (mostly because they're slow to respond, and the process waits on them twice) but you're certainly welcome to, and I'd be glad to approve it.
I have a quick question: How do I request a refund from Itch? I just want to make sure I'm doing it right. Also, sorry about responding late, I was busy with other things.
Just contact Itch support (support@itch.io), tell them the game you'd like refunded and why, and wait for the process described previously to play out.

And by the way, so the refund will remove the game from my account. So if I wanted to download it again, I would have to buy it again, right?
No problem. And correct, you'd have to buy again. I mean, the download is a file on your system, I can't really control that. But if we're working on the honor system yes, you'd delete and re-buy when/if interested.
I may not come back to this threat to remind you, but you should get an email from Itch once it's gone through the whole system confirming the game has been refunded. And again, brace yourself for a wait, it's whenever Itch gets around to answering emails, twice. So could be three or four days, could be a couple weeks. I'll try to keep a close eye on my email so I can respond promptly though.
Help please. im a little confused, i purchased this content update. 10 more dollars but didnt get the slut mode? did i do something wrong? did i just buy the main game a second time? x.x
Be sure to read the post carefully. The content pack is finished, but not on Itch yet. That will happen on the 12th of November. Right now it's only live on early preview on SubscribeStar. If you've already bought the game here, you'll be able to come to the store page and download the new version, with the pack, for free on the 12th. If you accidentally bought a second copy here, feel free to ask for a refund.

Wait..... so, the people who paid for the game here have to wait an extra 2 weeks to get an update to the game despite it being ready now? And if we'd like to get the update now we have to effectively pay you an extra $10?
Supporters on SubscribeStar get major content updates with a two-week lead time, yes. This is one of the few perks they get for their extra support, without which GT never would have happened in the first place. This is a very minor inconvenience, and was announced four months agowhen the pack went into production. I feel this this is a good value-for-money, but if you disagree, you're certainly welcome to opt out.

If you don't want to join over on SubscribeStar, you don't have to. If you're not a fan of the pricing structure and would rather not buy the games going forward, you can certainly choose not to. But this will probably be the way I do releases for the foreseeable future.
I am not trying to disrespect your subscribers, or you, I am trying to explain that I don't know if you get why I was mildly upset. I love the game, and considering the overall quality I would say it is absolutely worth $10. I am also honestly glad you have people who did commit to that and more and support you massively. The issue is holding back content for people who paid expecting the things listed when released. Saying you stated this timing plan in a post (which you posted nearly a week following the game's release, so people like me who bought it already wouldn't exactly be able to get you to change it) doesn't matter. Asking then, as now, doesn't have any power to reverse your decision, and would lead (as it seems it might have now) to you inferring it as someone judging your game's value. And I know you'll claim it's just a short delay, but the time isn't the point. The issue is that this is a forced/artificial delay you don't need to do. I'd even be confident many subscribers (if you ask) likely don't mind if you release here at the same time for people who paid, they just have the money to support you more, regardless of benefits. You might not mean it, but you're choice effectively implies people here that pay only $10 get a form of "reverse punishment", by intentional withholding of content to give those who had more and paid more to get access first. I hope you can see why this would feel bad to those who paid with good intentions, but weren't aware we'd be tiered so all updates (not just this one) would be artificially delayed to reward those who paid you more.
The deal for those purchasing the game normally has always been that they would get any new content for a chapter they owned at no extra charge. The timing of WHEN that would happen was never guaranteed, aside from basic decency dictating it would be somewhat reasonable (ie, not months and months of wait). Considering the time involved in developing this new content, and considering the base game only costs $10, I think getting the new content for free, even with a wait, is incredibly generous. It wouldn't be entirely beyond the pale to just charge for it directly, but for a variety of reasons I decided this model made more sense.
You have to understand that this is a business, not a hobby. Everything takes resources, which means everything has to pay for itself, one way or another. A lot of people, especially these days, don't have a lot of spending money, so I thought the best model was to give people a choice: pay with money (via SubscribeStar) or pay with time, by waiting a couple weeks.
From a certain perspective, I can understand the frustration. "I bought the game, why are these people getting the cool new stuff first?!" Because they paid for it. They paid for four months of additional work. And you're getting it for free. The $10 purchase is for the base game, AND the bonus of getting extra content for free, eventually. If you want the new content the moment it's ready, you have to help fund it. I think that's entirely reasonable.

Slut Mode is kind of the catch-all for the corruption path. Comes with its own ending (or several). It isn't dependent on the datacrystal stuff though, no.
oh snap! I got this game a while ago and thought it was complete. loved every moment of it!..cant wait to replay it again haha

Ha, that's one of my favorites so far too. That particular bad end actually predates any other specifics for the game, back when it was just a vague idea, so it was really satisfying to get it in. This one's a bit different, I try to vary them up each time. But I think you'll like it.

i really like how in the first game, Mezz was completely unaware of his slutty hypnotic corruption, but in this wonderful sequel he's made fully aware of it as his lust literally becomes an alter-ego that slowly takes him over the more he succumbs <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
